Joe Biden insulted Queen Elizabeth on Sunday in an awkward exchange with reporters on the tarmac at Heathrow before his flight to Brussels.

Joe Biden and Nurse Jill met Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle for tea Sunday afternoon.

The Queen, resplendent in pink, welcomes President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden to Windsor Castle at the conclusion of their visit to the UK. He’s the 14th president of her reign and the 12th she’s met as Queen. She met Truman while still Princess Elizabeth.

Biden insulted the Queen as he was leaving England for Belgium.

“I don’t think she’d be insulted but she reminded me of my mother, the look of her and just the generosity,” Biden said of the queen who is barely 17 years older than him.

Joe Biden’s mother, Jean Biden died in 2010.


After meeting with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle, Pres. Biden told reporters that the queen reminded him of his mother — “in terms of the look of her and just the generosity” — and that he invited her to the White House.
