Psalm 27:2 – when the wicked come against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. 3) Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident.

I the Lord will fight this battle for you. Do not fear the army that has come against you. I am protecting you. Did I not say, “I have protected you?’ Do you think that I will now remove my protection? Do you think I have led you this far only to abandon you? Would you do such a thing to any one of your sons? Am I not a good father? I will not allow the enemy to prosper against you, for I AM with you. I will not forget you. I will not forsake you. You are mine. I will not abandon my own. Do not fear.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
