John 17:1 – “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son.”

Many times the Lord’s provision looks like the removal of natural provision. He takes away the things that men rely on in the natural so that they will look to God as their support. That way when God delivers, the only answer will be – GOD! Many times God takes a situation from bad to worse to impossible in order to bring Him and His children greater glory. He knows what He is about. He has planned it long ago. He is not making it up as he goes. He does not have to alter his plans because of unforeseen circumstances or choices we make. He knows the end from the beginning. He has a declared end for me in every trial and circumstance. Every trial and circumstance is designed to increase my awareness of His glory and our union. He is after glorifying me so that in turn He may receive much glory.

You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. I love you with an everlasting love. I am for you. I am not against you. I have not given you a spirit of fear – but of peace and love. I have come to reveal my love to you. That you might come into me and find your rest. For I am gentle. I will lead you in the way everlasting. I am with you. I am in you, and you are in me. In me there is no darkness or shadow of turning. I am the same yesterday, today and forever. Do not think I was more powerful or more willing to help my people in the old covenant. No! I am the same! The covenant I have with you is better than the covenant I had with Daniel when I delivered him from his enemies and from the lion’s mouth. Your covenant is better than the 3 Hebrew children whom I delivered from the fired. Your covenant is better than the children of Israel who I delivered from the strong hand of Pharaoh by parting the Red Sea. Your covenant is better than Samson’s – who I raised up to bring justice to my people. For in his disobedience I removed my spirit from him. Your covenant is better than David’s. And think about all that I have done on his behalf!

I am the Lord your God. I am the mighty one of old. I command the armies of the heavens, and I commission them on your behalf. I have not forgotten you. I see you in your pit, and I am with you. I will not leave you in the hand of your enemy. I the Lord have heard your cry. I the Lord have answered you. The end is confirmed – you will be victorious. You will gain the victory. Hold on as I work a greater testimony in you. Do not say you cannot hear my voice. Do not say that you have not heard my voice. For you are my own. You know my voice. I have taught you the difference between my voice and the stranger’s. Do not question your hearing. You know my voice. My voice doesn’t bring fear. My voice does not deceive you. I the Lord do not lie. I have not set you up for defeat. I have set you up for victory. Let go of fear and worry. They only cripple you from hearing more clearly – more specifically. Hold on my son. Be strong and courageous. Do not lose heart.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
