Psalm 6:2 – Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. 3 I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord, until you restore me? 4 Return O Lord and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love.

My son, Jesus, was the visible image of me, the invisible God. What did he display as he walked the earth? Did he not have compassion on the multitudes? I the Lord am gracious and compassionate. I am slow to anger, and rich in love. My love never fails. It is new every morning.

I am full of compassion for my children. I am moved by your troubles. My heart goes out to you in your pain and despair. I do not delight in your pain. I take great delight in healing you my son. I delight in restoring you. I delight in transforming the enemies plans for death and destruction into life and construction. I am a master at turning every negative in your life into positive. Sadly, many people never see such transformation, because they give up. They lose heart, and because of unbelief never enter into the land of promise.

Do not despair my son. Your victory is assured. I have put you into Jesus who is always victorious. The same spirit that raised him from the dead will always lead you into victory. You are called to follow. Follow me, and I will lead you with my loving right hand. I will rescue you. I will restore you.

Do not lose the Way. Keep pursuing me. Keep seeking, asking, and knocking. I am kind and compassionate. I delight in mercy. Receive the free gift of grace. Do not say “how long?” Look for me in the now. Your salvation is in the present. I am here. I am with you. Find me in this moment, and you will soon find your light breaking forth from the despair of night as bright as the new noon-day sun. I am not coming – I have come!

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
