Psalm 12:5 – The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I’ve heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.” 6 The Lord’s promises are pure, like silver refined in the furnace, purified seven times over. 7 Therefore, Lord, we know you will protect the oppressed, preserving them for forever from this lying generation.

Oh Lord! When is that “now?” Rise Up! Rescue my family. I long for you to come. I long for your protection and preservation. Prove to me your promises are pure. Have I not been contending for this? Have I not been proclaiming your goodness and your willingness and desire to help us? If this is unbelief, then at least see my desire to believe and come to my aid!

I the Lord see everything. Nothing escapes my notice. Nothing is hidden from me. Many think that I do not see – that I do not hear. They believe they can get away with evil in my sight, but this is not true. I will repay. Do not lose heart. I have risen. This is your rescue. It is available to all who would believe.

Do not stop contending. Do not lose heart, for your “now” will come and you will long forget these days of suffering. My promises are for you. You can trust me. They have been for you from the moment they were spoken. The refining of them is for your sake. That you may test them, to see and know that they contain no impurities. I do not deceive. I will do what I’ve said I will do. Believe this and know the truth. Let my truth set you free from fear and anxiety. Do not say “when,” say “surely.” For as surely as the dawn, I have and will come!

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
