Psalm 4:1 – Answer me when I call to you, oh God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayers.
I the Lord have heard your cry. Do not fear to come into my presence. Come with thanksgiving and praise, for you can trust me. Your enemy, the accuser, has come before my throne to lay charges against you, but I the Lord am the everlasting judge. My judgments are right and true. No fact can escape my notice. The evidence cannot be hidden. I the Lord have examined the charges against you, and find that they are false and baseless. They have no basis in truth nor in law. I the Lord declare your innocent of all charges of sin levied against you. I set you free.
In my court you’ve been convicted and found guilty of being my beloved son. You have been convicted and found guilty of righteousness. The evidence is overwhelmingly for you in this charge. You are righteous. Therefore, call to me without fear and I will answer you. For I am not only a good judge, but I too am your good father.
Taste and see that I’m good. Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance. Call to me, as a son to his father, and I will show you great and mighty things. Things that you would not believe unless you see it with your own eyes. Rest in my peace for your faith has made you whole in my sight. You’re innocent my son, there is no more reason to fear. Only believe that you might receive.
