Judges 6:16 – And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as (if they were only) one man.”

This is the third time God reassures Gideon that He will be with him.  God is patient and kind with us in our insecurities and weaknesses.  He says, “Don’t be afraid.  I’ll be with you every step of the way.  This task, although it looks impossible to you right now, will be easy.  As easy as taking down one man.”

God is saying, even though what he has called you to looks impossible and unattainable, it won’t be, because He is with you.  He has declared the end from the beginning.  He has devised a strategy for the battle, and His plan is fool-proof.  That means not even you can mess it up if you’ll submit to it.

So are you game?  Are you in for whatever God’s called you to?  Because like Gideon, you were created for glory, and this is going to be one amazing ride!

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
