Psalm 17:1 – Oh Lord, hear my plea for justice. Listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer, for it comes from honest lips. 2 Declare me innocent for you see those who do right. 3 You have tested my thoughts and examinee my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin and what I say.
Many of my children live in ignorance of the power of the cross. For the cross is the answer to your cry for justice. I have heard your cry for help even before you were able to cry. The remedy was in effect before you were even aware of your sin problem. Through the cross, my son took your guilt so I could declare you innocent in the sight of all creation. You have been made right in my eyes says the Lord, because I’ve clothed you in my son’s righteousness. By your faith, enter into the Holy of Holies.
Do not lay a charge against my elect. Do not declare yourself unworthy for you have been bought with a great price. Not purchased as a slave, but ransomed from death itself. The storms and the trials test you so you may examine your great reward. Yes, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, for they will reveal the strength and perfect work that I have wrought in you.
Do not say I’m bound to sin, but rather set your determination to stand – for righteousness is your inheritance. You’re no longer a slave to sin or fear. My eyes are on you, for I delight in you. You have been declared innocent by the blood of the lamb. Live and let this word be your testimony as you overcome.
