Psalm 18:1 – I love you Lord, you are my strength.  2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock in whom I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.  3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies.

Come to me all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.  Come to me all you who are under attack, and I will defend you.  As long as you want to defend yourself, I will wait patiently, and allow you to experience the fruit of your efforts.  But if you want my help and are willing to make yourself vulnerable to my strength, then I will rise and protect you.

You will find that laying down your rights, your strength, your ability, and your wisdom – that when you make yourself vulnerable to me, you are safest.  In this place, you are protected.  For I am the Lord and your rock.  I don’t shift or shake.  Come to me and I will surround you.  I will shield you.  Let me be your fortress.  Your strong tower of refuge and strength.

What can your enemies do to you?  I am the Lord your God.  I have defeated all those who were against you.  None of their plans will prosper.  Call to me and I will answer you.  Call to me and see if I am not worthy to be praised.  I am the Lord who saves.  Call to me and find that the enemy’s been defeated.  Sin and death no longer have a claim on you.  You have been bought with the blood of my son.  I’ve purchased your freedom with my own body.

All who call to me may enter in.  Let my strength fill you with power. I have called you to be more than an overcomer.  I have overcome for you so that I may overcome through you.  Lift up your voice and call to me.  For even before you call I have already answered.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
