Psalm 2:7 – The king proclaims the Lord’s decree: the Lord said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father. 8 Only ask, and I will give the nations as your inheritance. The whole earth as your possession.”

Let me be your father. Let me father you. You are my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. I do not find you pleasing because of your works. I find you pleasing because you believed in me and have become my very own. As my son, I desire for you to enjoy your position as such.

Call to me, and I will show you great and mighty things. Ask of me, and receive. I am a good father. I give good gifts to my children. Try me and see. See if I am not altogether good. See if my intentions toward you are not honorable. See that I’ve called you with an everlasting call. I have sealed you with my very own Spirit.

We once were two, but now we are one. I have hidden nothing from you. Only ask, and I will give it to you. Jesus has prepared the way for you. Come unto him and find your rest. Receive from him the first fruits of your inheritance – my Holy Spirit. Take refuge in me and find the great joy of being my child. Oh what privileges you may enjoy as my children! All that is mine I give to you. Let my peace be your portion. Ask me what you will, for the day we become one our wills intertwined. You were transformed into the likeness of my only begotten son. Today I have became your father. Anything you ask according to my will is granted. Only believe.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
