Psalm 7:1 – I come to you for protection, oh Lord my God. Save me from my persecutors – rescue me! …6 Arise, oh Lord, in anger! Stand up against the fury of my enemies! Wake up, my God, bring justice.

Oh God, it seems as though those who are against me are prospering. Those who look at my life wonder where your power is that I’ve declared before many? Oh God, For the sake of your great name hear my cry! Answer me, and do not remain silent.

My son, do not fear. You are in the palm of my hands. I am holding you. I do not sleep or slumber. I will receive the glory that is due my name. Do not think me silent regarding your current circumstances. Have I not previously spoken to you regarding this trial? Did I not promise to see you through? Did I not promise that I would lead you into victory?

Do not lose heart in the desert. Do not turn back. No! Count the journey is joyful. Why? How? Because I have given you a promise. You’ve already been saved from the hands of your enemies. You’ve already been promised victory and rescue. Will you not receive the fruit of your redemption? Will you not partake of long-suffering with joy? Trust my heart for you. I am for you. I am not against you. I love you with an everlasting love. Will you not allow my love to have its perfect work in you and destroy your fear? You fear because you see yourself at the mercy of your persecutors, but I have spoken says the Lord. You are at the mercy of my great love for you.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
