1 Corinthians 3:21 – So don’t boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you – 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Peter, or the world, or life and death, or the present and the future. Everything belongs to you, 23 And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

You are my very own. You belong to me. I have redeemed you by the blood and body of my son Jesus Christ. I have called you by name – by my name for you are mine. I have called you to follow me. I have not called you to follow men. You are called to follow me. I will lead you in righteous paths. I will lead you in the everlasting way. Other men may be ahead of you on the journey, but you are to follow me alone. Let your boasting only be in the power of the cross – the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Through the cross I have personally given you everything that you ever need for life and godliness. I have made available to you the riches of My kingdom, and I invite you to sit and eat at my table – even in the presence of your enemies. Those that say you are unworthy to receive from Me will watch in awe as you sit at my table – uncondemned, forgiven, righteous, holy, and perfect. Because you are in Me, everything I have belongs to you. Yet, I do not deal with your past. I give you today and tomorrow. Yesterday’s curse is cut off. I have prohibited it from today and tomorrow, because my mercies are new every morning. Look to me and you will never know need. For I will be your all in all.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
