Psalm 17:6 – I am praying to you because I know you will answer, oh God.  Bend down and listen as I pray.  7 Show me your unfailing love and wonderful ways.  By your mighty power, you rescued those who seek refuge from their enemies.

Before you can receive anything from me, I require that you first believe.  For I have loved you so much, that I gave my son’s life in exchange for yours.  I have heard your cry before you ever even opened your lips.  I have answered before you even realized your great need.  I have made your rescue available from all of your enemies.  All you have to do is believe it, and you can receive it.  My love never fails.  I have come down to be with you.  I will listen, and I have answered.

Therefore, lift your prayer with confidence that I will answer.  I have made provision for everything you will ever need.  All you have to do is access it by faith.  I will in no way withhold from you any good thing.  Therefore, if you ask for something and you do not receive it, you can be assured that it is not good.  Since I will withhold no good thing – if something is withheld, perhaps you should consider whether that thing is my best for you.  And if it is not, then persist to seek and discover that good which I have prepared for you in its stead.  For I am a good father.

Ask with confidence, for I will answer.  My ears inclined to your prayer that I might answer in wonderful ways that your joy may be full and that I might receive much glory from my sons.  Call to me, and I will show you great and mighty things.  Things which you cannot believe unless you see them with your own eyes.  For the enemy has been defeated, and I the Lord reign over all the earth.

For one growing up in church, they could get the idea that sanctification is a process. That one becomes holier the closer he adheres to God's law and commandments now that they have received the free gift of salvation. However, righteousness is completely free! It is available to us through the finished work of Christ. It is all His doing. All His work! None of our own, lest we should boast. This is good news!
